Revert Back To the Prior Site Design

Feature Request

Hello! I’ve been using the site for the last couple of years and it’s been amazing! Everything was easy to access and understand without a lot of the noise like most other color picking and palette sites. However the current site design as of 09/26/2025 is honestly really buggy feeling? The load times are much longer and there’s a lot more distractions on the site. With a lot of the feature listings/buttons being moved to the side and shifting the main focus of the site off center it’s making the site a lot harder to read and get around. This change might even be more costly to run than before too. I honestly really loved how the site was earlier this month/August really. I'm also feeling so much more lag moving aorund the page trying to color pic from the image (it’s taking the color picker a very noticable amount of time to follow my cursor pointer).

Would honestly love for the site to go back to being more center screen focused and honestly a lot less animated. Old site was not boring, it was information and light. Current site is loud and confusing.

    Thanks for your detailed feedback and for being a long-time user! We've significantly improved the performance since then. Could you give it another try and let us know if you're still experiencing lag or slow load times? We'd love to hear if things are better now!

    Same lag is happening on my browser, even not doing anything and just scrolling is lagging so much, it takes several seconds to scroll down to bottom. I liked the new design but only problem I am facing is that lag, otherwise everything is fine and compact.

    We’d like to look into the longer load times and the lag with the color picker you mentioned, but so far we haven’t been able to reproduce this issue. Could you let us know:

    • Which browser + version you’re using

    • On which device/OS (Windows, macOS, Linux, mobile)

    • Whether the lag happens every time or only with larger images

    This will help us narrow it down and work on a fix. Thanks again — your input is super valuable in making the site better!

      i’m currently using:

      chrome + current (140.0.7339.186) , gpu acceleration on

      windows 10

      the lag happens everytime regardless of image sizing. i’m normally screenshoting smaller sections to color pick, roughly 300×300 - 500×500 and every now and then the full 1920×1080. the lag didn’t exist in August and earlier this month (at least through 09/11/2025 from my history log).

        Hi Jen — quick update from our side!

        We’ve just shipped another performance fix that targets exactly what you described:

        • reduced work per mouse-move in the color picker

        • trimmed some animations

        • tightened layout reflows so content stays centered and snappier

        Could you please try again and let us know if it feels faster now?
        A hard refresh helps to bypass cached assets: Ctrl+F5 (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (macOS). If you still notice lag, two quick checks would really help us narrow it down on Chrome 140 / Windows 10:

        1. Try an Incognito window (no extensions)

        2. Open DevTools → Performance → Record for ~5–10 seconds while moving the picker, then stop and share the summary (main thread time / long tasks)

          hi marc! thanks for checking back in!

          i did switch my daily browser to firefox (ver. 146.0.01)

          • sometimes the lag is super delayed as from before notes, however not all the time (about maybe one color picker session out of 5-6 will be super delayed in switching selected color from image)

          • the scrolling does have some hiccups where it’ll stop scrolling and take a longer time to load that scroll

          for chrome (ver. 145.0.7632.26) , gpu accel. on

          • the lag is still there, however it’s not everytime i’m loading the site (but definitely moreso than not) , but it is somewhat useable now than it was originally

          • the scrolling on the site is very delayed

          • click/swapping between the pages (conversion, variation, combo, contrast) by clicking the page buttons (instead of scrolling) is showing a long lag for the transition between the pages too
